The body is formed in an openwork trefoil/quatrefoil design with three rounded lobes surrounding a central void. The surface shows an attractive green patina from age and burial.Amulets such as this were worn by Viking men and women for protection and as symbolic ornaments. The trefoil design may have carried spiritual or magical significance, linked to fertility, protection, or the representation of tripartite symbols common in Norse art.Condition ReportGood condition for age. Intact with stable green patina and surface encrustations from burial. Suspension loop complete and functional. Minor wear and corrosion consistent with age and archaeological context.
