Exceedingly difficult to find - an original Heart Shield Bible, from 1943 when these shields were sold. It is named to Hiram P Costin (see photos, would be great to researcg) and it was a gift from his wife and daughter in may 1944. This bible is in nice condition for its age - see photo's as they are part of the description. the cover has a beautiful patina and it has his name neatly written inside. The metal plates were to prevent a bullet from reaching the soldier’s heart (which they did on several occasions. surface of the bible has a great patina and has the text: ''To my loved one''. I havent done any research but this could be easily done (i have no time). A very nice 100% original item for your US WW2 collection!
