Exceedingly difficult to find - an original Heart Shield Bible, from 1943 when these shields were sold. This bible is in good and nice condition except for some wear; see photo's as they are part of the description. the cover has a beautiful patina and it is named to a very high ranking officer, a Lt Col, Jack F Burnett, who served with the 10th / 14th Airforce. The metal plates were to prevent a bullet from reaching the soldier’s heart (which they did on several occasions. surface of the bible has a great patina and has the text: ''May the lord be with you''.
