Exceedingly difficult to find - an original Heart Shield Bible, from 1943 when these shields were sold. This unique example is named to Sgt Wayne A A Abott - born in 1918, and enlisted in 1940. Some preliminary research is attached; I dont know where he exactly served during WW2. His bible has his name, rank, and service number neatly written, and a touching message from his mom. This bible is in good and nice condition except for some wear; see photo's as they are part of the description. the cover has a beautiful patina. The metal plates were to prevent a bullet from reaching the soldier’s heart (which they did on several occasions. surface of the bible has a great patina and has the text: May the lord be with you.
