This is a so called reupholstered 'New Old chair'.This is a unique multicoloured version she made with a woven seating. They where exhibited for the first time at Art Rotterdam 2021 and a similar chair was also seen as part of the exhibition 'Stoel neemt Stelling' at Centraal Museum Utrecht (acquired by them as well).About the new old furniture collection:Who doesn’t recognise the old wooden chairs? Big chance you have seen them in thrift shops, at your grandparents place or even have them in your own home. They may look outdated but are still comfortable and technical great. Simone Post explored ways of giving these loyal roommates a new lease of life. Why, after all, make a new one when there are already so many chairs? She gives the chairs a new and unique look while accentuating its existing character, with a glimpse of its past still shining through.About PostSimone Post (*1990, Utrecht, the Netherlands) is a multidisciplinary maker with roots in textiles, based in Rotterdam.
