Large and richly decorated antique petroleum oil lamp, dating from approximately the late 19th to early 20th century.The lamp is fitted with a burner clearly marked:“ROWATT'S PATENTMARVELGERMAN MAKE”The lamp is completed with an attractive frosted and etched glass shade, decorated with grapevine and leaf motifs. The glass bears a visible “St. Louis” signature.The elaborate metal base is particularly decorative, featuring classical female heads, lion masks and ornamental detailing.
