Up for sale is an amazing and rare Rolex Oyster Perpetual "Bombay" ref. 6593, Rose Gold, from 1957.18 kt rose gold case, diameter 33 mm (thickness 12 mm), fluted gold bezel, rounded and accentuated helical lugs (model "Bombé"), gold crown mod. 24-530 (5.30mm), plexiglass "tropic 12" model. Original Champagne Dial with nice patina, with "Dauphine" hands and gold bar hour markers. Orange-Brown Ostrich Leather strap with original rose gold Rolex buckle.Automatic self-winding movement Caliber 1030, central seconds, fully serviced in 2019 and in great condition, it keeps time perfectly. The watch is supplied with digital service paper from the professional watchmaker that worked on it.This Rolex reference 6593 gets its name from the French word bombé, which means rounded or convex, and was originally used to describe the accentuated lugs. The term was later Americanised and the lugs are now nicknamed “Bombay.” Don’t be fooled by the seemingly small 33 mm case size – it wears big on the wrist due to the long and curved nature of the lugs. With overall good patina, this might be the perfect dress watch.
