Rather than relying on standard aperture blades, this f=250mm variant utilizes interchangeable perforated "sink strainer" disks—known as H-stops—to mechanically control spherical aberration and dictate the blend of a sharp central image with controlled peripheral halation. As a large-format optic, it casts a massive image circle that easily covers modern full-frame and medium-format digital sensors without vignetting, provided the user employs a specialized bellows or focusing helicoid adaptation system. Mount adapters are not included.
