Art Deco hanging lamp with hand-painted glass shade and fringe – Germany – ca. 1925Original Art Nouveau/ Art Deco pendant lamp, dating from around 1920–1935, most likely made in Germany. The lamp features a frosted glass shade decorated with engraved and hand-painted floral motifs in soft yellow, purple, and white tones. It is finished with a decorative fringe along the lower edge — a characteristic detail of the transitional period between Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) and early Art Deco. The fixture is made of brass-coloured metal with its original canopy and fitting still intact. It is in good vintage condition, showing minor signs of age. The glass is undamaged, while the fringe shows natural ageing and discolouration. The fringe can easily be replaced if desired, as the original mounting ring remains intact. The wiring appears to have been replaced at some point but should always be checked by a qualified electrician before use.
