The Philips Odyssey 2001 is a dedicated first-generation home video game console released by Philips in 1977 (mainly in Europe). It’s part of the Odyssey family of early consoles that came after the original Magnavox Odyssey lineage.Heritage & LineagePhilips had acquired Magnavox in the mid-1970s, and after that began releasing its own Odyssey-branded consoles in Europe based on Magnavox designs.
