This rare 1946 published account of D-Day/Normandy ''Saint Lo'' deals with U.S. military operations in Normandy and specifically the Saint Lo area during the infamous battles in Normandy in July 1944. This study rounds out the account of the battle at division level and below and relates the course of the units along this area in july 1944. This fantastic book is THE bible related to the USA / German operations in Saint Lo and surrounding areas! It contains mindblowingly detailled maps, photo's, and very large amounts of information. I will let the photo's do the talking - the book is in nice condition for its age. A very nice Normandy related unit history! “St-Lo” is the story of a corps in First Army during the bitter July battle that led up to and made possible the great breakthrough from the Normandy beachheads. This was the period of the most intense hedgerow fighting. XIX Corps' part in it has been chosen to illustrate this type of combat. The records of other First Army units in this operation have been covered only in outline.
