This HUGE and rare 1945 published restricted history of the V Corps in the European Theater of Operations, including detailed accounts of their role in the D-Day invasion. Illustrated with numerous maps and photographs. The contents of this volume were classified as 'secret' or 'top secret' until the end of the war. This is the bible regarding the actions of the V corps in the ETO during 1942 - 1945, discussing the D-Day landings on 6 june, the liberation of Paris, Battle of the Bulge, etc. It has an astonishing amount of detailled maps, phoyogtaphs and name lists. On 6 June 1944, V Corps assaulted Omaha Beach, Normandy. Corps soldiers then broke out from the beachhead, liberated Paris and Sedan, Ardennes, and raced to the German border. After liberating Luxembourg City, V Corps fought in the Battle of the Bulge, captured Leipzig, made first contact with the Red Army at Torgau, and, south in Czechoslovakia, liberated Plzeň by May 1945. THe hardcover, has always, is so heavy that the spine of the book is damaged, however, the book itself is stable and could be easily repaired. See photo's for an own important impression.
