Issued to infantry men who served under enemy fire for prolonged time. A very nice early example, made in sterling (non magnetic). This badge dates around 1943/early 1944 and be a locally made variant - the pattern markingso n the clutch also dates it to 1943. It shows beautiful wear from on the uniform, see photo's.
