The 2220B combines a sensitive tuner section and a modest but very musical amplifier stage — ideal for smaller rooms or lower-efficiency speakers.This receiver features a brushed-metal faceplate, illuminated tuning dial, and (in original or restored units) fine wood-side panels or cabinet. Controls include bass, treble, balance, loudness, mode (mono/ stereo), muting, and tape monitor, plus input selector switches. The tuner section supports FM (with stereo reception) and MW (AM) bands, with analog tuning and signal strength / tuning indicators. Internally, the circuitry is of the era — discrete transistors (no integrated amplifiers as in modern gear) — which contributes to its character.To deliver this product properly, it is carefully packed in very strong boxes, thereby wrapped in bubble wrap with lots of padding.
