Offered is a rare and intriguing abstract-geometric sculpture by Dutch artist John Spek (Ermelo). This sculpture, titled 'Tien-Vlaks L1' ('Ten-Faceted L1'), is a classic example of the mathematical precision and minimalist 'ZERO' aesthetic for which Spek is known. The work consists of a stack of highly polished stainless steel (RVS) shapes, which create a constantly changing play of light and shadow due to their reflective surface. The piece is mounted on a heavy, dark natural stone base.Spek's geometric columns are sought-after collector's items and appear less frequently than his bronze bird sculptures.Condition: The sculpture is in good vintage condition with normal signs of age and use on the metal surface (minimal surface scratches, inherent to polished stainless steel). The base is undamaged. The original label is still present on the underside. Please see photos for a detailed impression."
