Provenance Kees Broos, Arnhem (acquired directly from the artist). Private Collection, The Netherlands. The Exceptional Sale spans all areas of the arts: Modern and Contemporary Art, Photography, Prints and Multiples, and Classical Art. Though diverse, each piece is united by its exceptional quality. Bouc-peintre (Goat-Painter) by Marc Chagall is one of the sale's highlights. Dedicated to Willem Sandberg, the former director of the Stedelijk Museum, the work boasts significant provenance and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by the Comité Marc Chagall on 16 May 2024. Outstanding quality is evident in every lot, with works by some of the greatest artists: paintings by Lucassen, Jonathan Meese, Van Koningsbruggen, and Armando; works on paper by Markus Lüpertz, Breitner, Corneille, and Von Graevenitz; multiples by Yves Klein, Cy Twombly, Jan Schoonhoven, and Lawrence Weiner; and photographs by Robert Mapplethorpe and Steve McQueen.
