Rare JAWA 552 S22/S23 Engine 49cc For sale: A unique and rare JAWA Stadion 49cc Type 552 engine.This iconic air-cooled, single-cylinder, two-stroke engine was produced in the former Czechoslovakia between the mid-1950s and mid-1960s. It was originally used for the well-known JAWA Stadion S22 and S23 mopeds.A distinctive feature of this specific Type 552 is the recognizable upward-facing cylinder, which immediately sets the engine apart from other JAWA 49cc models.Possible S23 factory tuning:Although the S23 looks visually identical to the S22, the S23 came factory-tuned for higher performance. The cylinder's intake port on this engine shows no signs of aftermarket modification and has a 14 mm opening. This strongly suggests that this is the rarer Type 552 S23 engine.Specifications & Condition:• Carburetor: Equipped with an original Jikov carburetor. There is no model number stamped on it, but it is likely the Jikov 2914 or 2915 model.• Ignition cover: The cover is detached (screws are missing).• Condition: the engine looks fully complete, appears intact, and has good compression.A wonderful item for the serious JAWA collector or a perfect base for restoring a Stadion S22 or S23 moped.
