Presented by Höfner at the guitar-fair in Stockholm (S) in 1956: the Höfner 457 with the Höfner Double Pickguard Unit, (see photo's catalogues out of both Höfner-books). A really beautiful guitar in original fine condition. The for that time revolutionary new pick up got two seperate heads to be moved to any position between the bridge and fingerboard by simply sliding action. Tonal colours are subsequently infinitely variable, giving complete total perfection. A separate magnet for each string on both pick-up heads banishes tuning problems. Control is by dual volume control knob and three "new line" flick switches.This fine guitar is -after more than almost 70 years- still very well playable. No serious harm and the neck is straight. Even the - not perfect- soft guitar-case is original.
