Sanson, published in Paris in 1863.This important historical work contains the memoirs of the Sanson dynasty, the official executioners of Paris during the French Revolution, including the period of Louis XVI, Marie-Antoinette, Danton and Robespierre.The set is bound in a uniform 19th-century bibliophile half-leather binding with gilt titles on the spines.Volumes I and VI bear the heraldic Ex Libris of the famous Belgian bibliophile Gustave Van Brée.
