His career as a photojournalist fits in perfectly with the explosion of the rock scene and he masterfully documented this golden age of music history - and photographed many of the greatest icons of the time. Hanekroot strived to capture images that revealed the man behind the musician. Trying to express a deeper truth about his subjects resulted in portraits that are natural and intimate, relaxed and sincere.
