Magnesium Flash, simmilar like the german type "Sonne in der Westentasche. The so-called Magnesium Ribbon Holder is a manual flash with a magnesium ribbon. By unrolling the ribbon to different lengths, you determine the exposure time of the camera's open shutter. It is ignited with a match or a gas flame. The flash is internally equipped with a magnesium roll. By pressing a wheel the ribbon with your thumb, the magnesium rolls out. In this one the ribbon is oxydised and does not roll. An extra piece of ribbon is included for you to try or roll on the old part. (Do NOT try indoor).
