Early Swiss made brass lens casket set, designed by Emil Suter.This is a rare matching factory set, in a luxury box.Originally sold by Budtz Müllers Eftf in Kopenhagen.Both lenses indicate 15011 as serial number, production date would be around 1890s.One says Emil Suter, Basel. with iris diaphragmThe other one says "weitwinkel" with rotary diaphragm (wheel diaphragm)Both are functional.Next to the lenses there are 3 interchangeable rear lenses that can be mounted to both main lenses to change the focal distance.The brass shows signs of wear.The glass of the lenses looks to be in general good condition, with the wear you can expect from a used lens of 125 years old.1 of the 3 rear lenses has small dents over the glass surface.I tried to picture this, but was not able to photograph it.There is one conic brass ring that screws on to the rear lens, inside of the main barrel.It can be used to reduce lens flair if neededThe ring is very slightly deformed to the edge, yet difficult to see on the photo, and also does not affect the ability to screw it onto the rear lens in any way.All the rear lenses easily screw on to both the... lees verder bij Catawiki
