The case features a vibrant red faux tortoiseshell veneer, richly decorated with finely cast gilt bronze (ormolu) mounts in the form of scrolling acanthus leaves, rocaille details, and corner busts.The clock rests on a separate, matching veneered base with gilt bronze trim and feet, enhancing its presence and elegance.The white enamel dial is signed A. Liénard F. (Paris), with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes.
