Italian School, early 18th century – Circle of Andrea Belvedere (1652–1732) – Floral still lifeA refined and atmospheric Italian floral still life from the early 18th century, depicting an elegant bouquet of richly coloured flowers arranged in a terracotta vase, accompanied by scattered blossoms in the foreground. The composition is set against a warm landscape background with soft sky tones, creating depth and an almost Arcadian atmosphere. The refined floral arrangement, warm Neapolitan palette and painterly handling strongly relate this work to the circle of Andrea Belvedere (1652–1732), one of the leading Italian flower painters of the late Baroque period. The choice of flower types, the lively yet harmonious composition and the subtle landscape background closely reflect the visual language associated with Belvedere and his artistic milieu in Naples around 1700–1730.The painting is executed in oil on canvas and remains in very attractive condition, with fresh colours and good surface quality but can use a cleaning to really let the colors explode. It is presented in a later black wooden frame with some visible wear and minor paint losses to the frame, adding character but not detracting from the overall presentation. The work is ready to hang.Details• Artist: Italian School, circle... lees verder bij Catawiki
