Drawn exclusively from Cask No. 6, this exceptionally limited single cask release produced just 158 bottles worldwide. Bottled at 55.1% ABV, this expression was presented at natural colour, without chill filtration or the addition of sugar. It represents a particularly scarce independent bottling from the legendary Caroni Distillery, whose closure has made its remaining mature stocks increasingly sought after amongst collectors of Caribbean rum. This 1998 Caroni displays a fascinating combination of the distillery’s sweeter and more industrial characteristics. Aromas of caramel, ripe tropical fruit, citrus and tobacco develop into the distinctive Caroni notes of tar, diesel, rubber, toasted oak and dark, burnt sweetness.
