( 2 missing ) On the Camer Lucida, there is an inscription in french: “Charles Chevalier, Palais Royal, 163 Paris”. The instrument and the prism are in good shape. Measurements of the box with red velvet are 25 x 5 x 2 cmCHAMBRE CLAIRE BERVILLEThe Camera Lucida, or Chambre Claire in French, was widely used in the 19th and early 20th centuries. It was constructed entirely of metal and was considered both a scientific and an artistic instrument. This one is a classic Chambre Claire Univeselle by P. Berville.
