Automobile Year no.1 1953/54 – no 61 2013/14A complete and monumental overview of the automotive heyday of fossil fuels.Almost rarely offered! The first editions, with a small print run and certainly in good condition, are very rare! Part 2 (1954/55) is the rarest edition – an estimated 800 copies were printed, most of which were destroyed by fire.--The first three editions, then titled 'Annual Automobile Review', were softcover editions (afterwards all volumes were hardcover with dust jackets). They were launched from 1953 onwards by Ami Guichard (1921-1986), a Swiss automotive journalist and entrepreneur from Lausanne, who published them through his company Edita S.A. He involved the best writers and photographers he knew, including Charles Farous (the founder of the 24 Hours of Le Mans). Published by Edita Lausanne/Editions JR/E.T.A.I. Paris - 1953-2013. Folio 32.5 x 24.5 cm. All early editions are well preserved, later editions are in very good, or as new, condition.
