BMW Alpina – B5s Individual 530HP 1 of 120 World Wide – 2008

GENERAL This is an extremely rare 2008 BMW ALPINA B5s LCI Individual sedan, one of only 120 examples produced worldwide. The ALPINA B5 was originally introduced in 2005 as the successor to the B10, but ALPINA took a completely different technical approach with the E60 platform compared to the standard BMW M5. Instead of a high-revving V10 engine paired with an SMG gearbox, ALPINA utilized a torque-rich supercharged V8 engine mated to a smooth ZF transmission. While both cars originally produced 500 horsepower, the power delivery was entirely different. The M5 required the driver to deliberately chase high RPMs to accelerate, whereas the supercharged ALPINA engine provided instant acceleration at any point in the rev range. It is rare for an ALPINA product to match or surpass a BMW M car in terms of power, but in 2008, ALPINA pushed boundaries by introducing the B5s. Based on the facelifted BMW E60 and E61 generations, the B5s surpassed the M5 in both torque and horsepower, delivering an unprecedented 530 horsepower and 730 Newton-meters of torque.
