This 2 " x 2 1/2 " (a ninth plate) hand colored ambrotype, still mounted under its original cover glass, showing a Southern gentleman (circa 1860). The young man has rosy cheeks, a white or light gray jacket, a black waistcoat and 2 gilted buttons on his scharf.The wooden case is covered with black leather ornated with geometrical designs, and lined with a red velvet pad with a tobacco flower opposite the image.A repair on the back of the case .Please see all pictures as they are part of the description.
