Arkadi Vladimirovich Vlaznev (1933-1998) was born in Bryansk. Studied at the Kharkov Art institute until 1963. He worked and lived in Kursk. Vlaznev was ahead of his time by using bright colors and painting in an impressionistic style that differed substantially from the classical social realism that was dominant at that time.
