The Wine: The Grange des Pères white wine offers beautiful aromas of white flowers and citrus, along with notes of gunflint. On the palate, it displays freshness, richness, and breadth, while the long finish reveals lovely empyreumatic notes. A magnificent, incredibly harmonious white wine from the Languedoc. Crafted from Roussanne and Marsanne, and rounded out by atypical varieties such as Chardonnay and Gros Manseng, it is aged in barrels for 24 months.The Grange des Pères Estate:The Grange des Pères estate is one of the Languedoc’s greatest success stories—the region's most renowned and sought-after winery. Laurent Vaillé—who sadly passed away in April 2021—was an exceptionally talented winemaker who played a pivotal role in the region's rise to prominence. His family settled in the area in 1963, and he took over the family estate in 1988 alongside his brother Bernard. This marked a career shift for Vaillé, who was originally a physiotherapist; he honed his craft under the mentorship of Eloi Dürrbach at Domaine de Trévallon (Provence), Jean-François Coche-Dury (Meursault), and Gérard Chave (Northern Rhône Valley). The estate, spanning 13 hectares, produced its first vintage in 1992.
