Very rare cabinet called ‘wheels’ designed by one of the most important contemporary designers from The Netherlands; Richard Hutten. This cabinet was designed for Hidden, a company with great ideas. Unfortunatley the company only existed for a few years and got bankrupt after 2 years. All the pieces produced at Hidden were only produced in very sall numbers as these pieces were a first production series, and the succes of those pieces was never tested. This rare cabinet is perfect for a kitchen for example, to store kitchenware, glasses, pots and pans. But can also used for other storage options of course.
It is unclear how many of these were produced, there are at least 2 shown on the picture in the Hidden brochure, but I have never seen another one for sale. I estimate it will not be much more than those 2. Which makes this piece very unique for a contemporary design collector.
The piece is made of silver painted MDF and the front doors are cobalt blue. The handles are made of powder coated metal and the wheels are made of rubber. It is in very good condition as this was hardly used. This came from a former employee of Hidden who took the piece home after the company got bankrupt.
