Frankfurt am Main, Caspar Merian, [1659]. Blind-stamped pigskin, raised bands and gilt title in vignet. engraved title presenting Neptune and coath-of-arms of the 17 Provinces. Illustrated with 12 engraved maps, 108 plates (some folding or double page) with in total 158 views and plans. Condition. Binding is fine but original claps are missing. Endpapers and index with some wormholes. Light foxing/browning throughout the text, unfortunately heavy on the map of Amsterdam (which has a tear on the folding-line). Some plates unclean but all plates in good condition. Overall a good copy. in Boeken / Oude en zeldzame boeken (pre-1800)
